Notes:
After recent rains my newly laid sod lawn of Empire Zoysia is sprouting a crop of unusual plant-lets. They grow so rapidly (and rampantly) I’m inclined to think they’re a weed of some sort, and I’ve been pulling the them… hundreds of them. Now I worry that they might be new growth in my lawn and I’m setting it back. These things sprout in the lushest sections of the sod installation. When pulled, they reveal a shallow, semi-bulbous, purple root. Should I continue to do battle with them

Our lawn looks like the grass is shrinking because we are seeing patches of soil, and the ground seems lumpy underneath. We water daily. Most of the lawn looks good the grass looks dark green and covers most of the yard. We bought some Neoptides and put that out today thinking it could be a grub issue. Hope you can give us any suggestions or guidance. Thank you!
