Notes:

This is my second post about this garden “volunteer”. The first post can be found here: http://www.walterreeves.com/name-that-plant/pretty-redgreen-plant/ I thought I’d post another photo that shows a purple spiky flower developing on the very top of the plant. The leaves are definitely red and green, though the underside of the leaves can take on a purple sheen in certain light. The stem is square. It is not aromatic. I’m really stumped, cannot find what this is!

    Looks like one of the showy amaranths. Possibly amaranthus tricolor… Grown as a vegetable.
