This double trunked tree has blossoms up high that i can’t get a good picture of.

I would agree. It’s more than likely a Callery Pear which is becoming increasingly invasive throughout the south. Don’t waste a good landscape for this tree.

Without flowers to help narrow down, I’m wondering with the thorn presence in the first photo, This might be something from the pear (Pyrus) group? Check out the Callery pear (Pyrus calleryana) .
