This was given to me to save. It has sword like purple & green leaves & very hairy stems. Wondering if it is from the fern family?

Maybe a species of the Calathea genus in the arrowroot family ( Marantaceae). I’m guessing this might be the furry feather calathea (Calathea rufibarba). Check it out and see if you have match. I am not sure what it is but it looks like it has been over watered. Repot, give it some sunshine and some benign neglect….water or lyrics when surface very dry.
