Beautiful but very invasive. Every seed seems to sprout (and it produces many, many seeds). I have one and spend a lot of time getting rid of the babies. You need to do this because it is taking over the South and we will lose our native flora. http://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/node/650

I went back up there today and picked up some and before they break apart, there is 3 of these pieces together in a pod. The tree has yellow leaves, not sawtoothed.

Perhaps the remains of a golden raintree seed pod. http://www.treeworld.info/f47/flowering-tree-balloon-like-seed-pods-8805.html
