Notes:
Found this young bush/tree growing wild on my property. Its approximately 4 feet tall with somewhat thick leaves growing in groups of 3. Any ideas on what it might be?

Hi rod strelau, I’m unable to tell the exact ID for your plant with out flowers. I’m only speculating,. Yours appears to have alternate & compound leaves, possibly something in the bean (Fabaceae) family? We will have to wait for the flowers for more definite clue to confirm or rule out this family. Please give us an update when it blooms. For now check out some of the species with similar leaves. Thank you & best wishes! The first link is for Dixie-trefoil/Florida beggarweed (Desmodium tortuosum). Again I’m purely seculating. https://oak.ppws.vt.edu/~flessner/weedguide/dedto.htm
