Notes:
This is another small weed in the yard that I haven’t been able to identify. Fibrous roots. Basal leaves only, hairy but not in a rosette. Flower stems hairy with single yellow blossom. As an aside I counted at least 6 yellow flowers in the yard that are competing with the dandelion… and yesterday I realized that I’ve identified plants in at least 20 different families this spring. Most of them are in my yard.

Looks very similar. I’m fairly sure it’s a variety of Krigia now, but I’ll have to examine the leaves and flower more closely. I thought the leaves to be rather spatulate in shape, but as I look at it more closely, there can be some odd shapes- some even forked on the end. My picture is of one that has been chewed on by the lawnmower so it’s hard to tell. Also the flower seems to be a little different with no rays florets in the center. Thanks for your help! I’ll post back if I narrow it down a little further.
