Notes:
In Las Vegas we’re a far cry from Georgia, but…. These are growing in our planting area. My wife says to get them grow, they might be trees! So I’ve pruned them to see. We can find no information on what they are. Anyone have any ideas?

We think we have the answer: It is the dreaded Salt Cedar (Tamarisk). Thanks to “Flower Fanatic” who led us to this conclusion. Horror stories abound of it’s invasive nature and thirstiness. Woe unto us who thought we might nurture it to a loving tree! I couldn’t get out there and kill it fast enough!!! http://www.terrain.org/articles/27/lamberton.htm

The image are too far to be certain. I’m only speculating here. Check out species of salt cedar (Tamarix) genus begins at page 21 from the link below and see if you have a match. You know when it blooms. If it it isn’t Tamarix, make new post with close-up photo of leaves. Best wishes! http://westernipm.org/index.cfm/center-projects/project-websites/tribal-work-group/weeds-of-nevada-wildlands-pdf/
