Notes:
It’s been growing against the back of the house for several years. Only flowers for a little. It’s getting a little out of control with all it’s vines. I was wondering what it was so I could know how to take care of it. Thanks.

Wisteria is one of those “love it or hate it” vines. It is usually very invasive and hard to control, but if allowed to get big can give an absolutely glorious show in spring, but only for a short time.

It’s a wisteria. Looks like it could be the purple, short raceme form of Wisteria brachybotrys called ‘Murasaki Kapitan’ that was formerly known as Wisteria venusta ‘Violacea’.
