Freeze Protection – Using Sprinklers
Q: When an unexpected freeze is predicted, can I protect my plants by sprinkling them with water?
A: Maybe…..and that’s a BIG maybe!
Citrus and strawberry growers use the technique but they have lots more meteorological information at their fingertips than you do.
The amount of water to apply depends on the air temperature, the humidity and the wind speed.
