University of Georgia Fertilizer Calculator

It’s a great idea to have your soil tested by the UGA Soils laboratory to find out exactly what nutrients your soil contains. But it’s quite common to receive from the lab a fertilizer recommendation that contains fertilizer products you can’t find locally.

To fix this problem, the lab has designed an online calculator that allows you to input their original recommendation plus the grades of fertilizer you can find locally.

The calculator gives you back suggested mixtures of your local fertilizers that give approximately the same results as the original recommendation.

The calculator lists several fertilizer grades to choose from…but it may not list the ones you find at your local hardware or big box store. I’ve collected a list of fertilizers I found at Home Depot and at Pike Nursery so you’ll have a more complete list.
