Notes:
I have 5 of these young plants growing in the same general area of my property in Talking Rock, Ga. I think it may be some form of Chestnut, but I can’t tell from the leaf. Will you help me please?

also know as Jimson weed. Very plentiful around here and not usually know as a “good” weed. Considered very toxic and is foul smelling when disturbed. I would say get rid of it and all seed pods if possible

Not a chestnut… Although, I can see how those thorns on the fruit might resemble the thorns from a chestnut… This annual plant is Datura stramonium… It has pretty flowers, but it isn’t food.
