Notes:
I recently moved to a new place. Leaves and pine needles covered an area and I removed them in April. This shrub only became visible about about a month ago. The new leaves are shiny, older ones are not. They are growing fast from a trunk that had been covered by the fallen debris. They are covered in either mealy bugs or aphids with ants protecting them from their killers. Im trying to find out what they are and decide whether its worth keepimg. If anyone can help, I’d be grateful. Thank you

Somebody cut it down. 🙁 Keeper… Possible tupelo or persimmon. Can tell better after it becomes a tree.

They look like hydrangea to me.
