I planted this from seed. I had never seen it before. Now I don’t know the name of it to find in the spring

    Yes Witchazel thank you. That has the palm like foliage but the name is still confusing me. Cypress vine as I’ve known it has lacy leaves. The botanical name for the lacy leaf variety is ipomoea quamoclit. This one is possibly Ipomoea X multifida a hybrid of garden origin between cypress-vine and the related scarlet morning-glory (Ipomoea coccinea): http://loghouseplants.com/plants/shop/ipomoea-x-multifida-cardinalis/ Seeds are available: Google CARDINAL CLIMBER SEEDS
