Notes:
Growing at an elevation of 3600′ in western NC, this dense shrub is about 10′ tall and 8′ wide. It looks as if it flowered in the earlier part of the year, but it was before July. The leaves are about 2″ in diameter. Located outside of a bay window area makes me think it was planted, but has been neglected for about 10 years but obviously thrived. I first thought Rose of Sharon, but leaves are much stubbier. Help?
