Notes:

This weed began appearing in my yard about 4 years ago. Every spring it reappears in greater numbers and in more places. Now it’s in the yard, in the flower beds, the vegetable garden, in gravelled areas, even underneath the deck. Can’t pull it up; it will break off at ground level; have to dig it up.

    Laura thank you very much. That is absolutely the weed. Doesn’t look like there’s anything easy to do about it though; will have to battle it one at a time with a shovel.
