Notes:
dies back in winter, blooms July-November. Unpruned grows to about 8 feet. Must be rhizome for spreads laterally. Partial sun.

Thank you so much! I further investigated the names you listed and agree that this is, indeed the plant. Nice to know about the invasiveness! I am in my 60’s and I do not ever recall seeing this plant in NC, and it’s pretty hard to miss! I appreciate having the name.

Looks like rose glory bower, kashmir bouquet or Mexican hydrangea (Clerodendrum bungei). This is a very invasive plant through out the southern states.
