Notes:

This plant is very hard to kill. It is almost impossible to pull from the ground without breaking off at the stems. It seems to spread through a lot of roots. It can grow quite tall if left alone. It has taken over my garden at the side of my house. What is it and how can I kill it?

    Maybe a Rumex, Dock.

Can you show more details of the plant, close-up? Leaves, flowers, seedheads?

    Definitely rumex.
    Considered edible.

    Dig out.
Expect a tap root…. Digs out better if soil is moist.

The leaves look like a Rumex but most pictures I see of Rumex show the leaves clustered at the bottom of the plant and then stems shooting up to seeds. That is not the case with my plants.
