Cypress Mulch vs Hardwood Mulch
Q: I would like to apply mulch to my garden(s), but I’m a bit confused. I never liked pine bark mulch because it blows away too easily, so I always used hardwood mulch. Now I have also found cypress mulch. Does cypress mulch have the same protective effect? I would prefer not to use pine straw.
A: I’m opposed to using cypress mulch because the trees used to produce it are taken from vital wetlands in Louisiana.
See Cypress Mulch.
Use hardwood mulch instead.
