I’m in southwest Florida and this is my gardenia plant with white stuff. Don’t see it in any books

I think that’s what it is… Mealy bugs. Yesterday I treated it with a spary of 50% rubbing alcohol to 50%water + 3 tsp of Dawn liquid detergent. Sprayed the plant and wiped off as much of the infestation as I could, Then sprayed it thoroughly with the water hose. Will repeat in three days. I have my finger crossed. Thanks PS – It looks very good today with no wilt or leaf drop.
