Q: When would it be best to put down fungicide for large patch disease on my Emerald zoysia? I want to do my app for spring, but with this variable weather I don’t want to wait to long for large patch to rear its ugly face in my yard. I fertilize 2 or 3 times a year beginning in early May. I don’t over-water because I can’t afford to with an acre of turf!
A: Those rings are pretty ugly!
I think you’d be safe to wait until the grass is green, then keep a sharp eye out for the first signs of disease.
Research says to apply when night low temps are above 60 degrees.
