Notes:
I think this is a beautiful plant and would love to know what it is. I found it not too far from a river, at one of our parks in South Carolina. The part being held up in the picture (I guess it is the seeds?), is very, very thin. Thank you for any help you can provide!

Looks like river oats. http://nadiasyard.com/our-native-plants/river-oats-chasmanthium-latifolium/ I like river oats in the garden, but if you grow them in sunlight with plenty of moisture, they spread rampantly. I prefer them in the shade garden where they are less aggressive. They grow easily from collected seed.
