this was found in Iowa at a dump site. wondering what it is and if it should be transplanted

That’s a good looking plant. Now is not a good time to attempt transplanting the datura. Ideal thing would be collect seed this autumn. Datura wrightii can be transplanted when small, and even the large ones can be moved… I wait until spring when the new sprouts have begun to emerge.
