Notes:
These 2 different berries are growing on the same tree. The grape/blueberry looking ones taste like sour grapes and have many seeds. The red/purple berries taste like sour cherries and have a small pit.

I thought this one was an X-file type post. I was waiting for the Georgia Gardener powers that be to make some announcement about a mad botanist. So there are not 2 different berries growing on the same tree. Whew! There is a wild cherry tree with a grape vine in it. Makes much more sense. I agree with Jim.

Since none of our resident experts have responded, I’ll take a couple of shots. The red/purple berries and leaf look like wild cherry or black cherry (prunus serotina). The grapes could be either fox grapes or frost grapes, or some other species, but definitely of the genus vitis.
