Notes:
Been struggling with something defoliating my young trees. First it was a weeping Cherry and now my Moonrise Japanese Maple. I put diatomaceous earth on the leaves yesterday afternoon only to find even more leaves gone this morning. Upon close inspection I see this worm munching away. Another small one in the pot. What is it?

It’s a horn worm of some sort. I get them (or their cousins) on my tomatoes, apparently there’s also a tobacco horn worm. Pull it off the leaf and squash it. You’ll see your foliage when you pick up your foot. Their very destructive, so try to kill as many as possible so they don’t turn into egg-laying moths.
