Notes:
These two pics were taken last month at Cumberland Island. I thought the 1st pic were acorns, but closer they look like a growth of some sort. The 2nd pic was on the beach, a sprouted seedling. I don’t know what either of these plants are, any help?

Te 2nd pic – Maybe a type of sea-beans/drift seeds? At this stage it’s difficult to tell which genus & species this is. Perhaps you could try to grow some of these seedlings and see. I’m wondering if this might be something in the Avicennia genus? Check out the last photo on this link for seedling of the black mangrove (Avicennia germinans). http://tropical.theferns.info/image.php?id=Avicennia+germinans
