Notes:
This weed showed up last year in our mulch. Small leaves and very fine roots but forms a very dense matt that has choked out several other plants and small shrubs. Seems to love direct sunlight and shade under shrubs. Tried pulling it up and even removing the mulch/dirt, but keeps coming back. What is it, and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks for volunteering that one, Laura. I’ve had pictures of it that I would have probably had to post to get an ID.
