    I would guess it’s an old fashioned crepe myrtle. If there is a larger one anywhere close, it often sends up little baby plants nearby, especially if a root has been cut or injured.

    Without flowers to help narrow down, I could only speculate for now. Maybe a type of privet (Ligustrum)? Possible the Chinese privet (L. sinense)? Check out the included link below and see if you have a match. When it flowers and you still don’t know please resubmit with photos of flowers, closeup of the main trunk & the whole plant.
