Notes:
I found this unusual plant growing at the base of a power pole in a mostly sunny location. The leaves are opposite each other. The plant on June 24 was about 30 inches tall. A white milky substance comes out when the leaves are pinched. I’ve never seen anything like this and would appreciate any help in identifying it.

Milkweed. Can’t really identify it without blooms, maybe this field guide will be enough to help you pin it down. http://www.eealliance.org/assets/Documents/MAG/field_guide.pdf
