Pruning methods for Hyrangea old wood and new wood type.

It will be hard to tell without flowers. I’m guessing only, perhaps something from the bigleaf hydrangea group (Hydrangea macrophylla)? Most in this group blooms on old wood. According to the included link below, hybrids blooming habit also could be different from the species. If this specimen was mine, I would let it grows to see where on the branch/stem flower buds are formed, whether on new wood or old wood.
