Notes:
The plant is approx 10ft tall, flowered during spring with white petals. I have looked around and nobody seems to be able to tell me exactly what it is. My best guess is some kind of ribe (blackcurrant) plant. Not sure though….Any info would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks. Karl

With the shape of fruit clusters, the opposite maple-leaves shape arrangement, and you mentioned “blackcurrant”. I am assuming the fruits are of black color. You might want to check out the maple-leaf species and cultivars with black fruits in the genus of Viburnum.
