Thank you for the feed back Tracy! I also thought the plant in question might be an avocado but not knowing the history of the original tree whether it is grafted or from seed . I was hoping to see the base of the plant in question how it was look coming out from the soil . Unfortunately the whorl of leaves in the foreground obscures the base of the tree. The trunk & leaves appear to looks like a type avocado. Wait for flowers to have a confirmed ID. If you still don’t know then, please resubmit with flowers photo. For now Copy & paste to open the included link below for interesting information on varieties of avocado. Best wishes!

What kind of avocado tree do you get when you plant a seed?

The second picture is of the ground. The tree is planted in a planter box next to a producing Florida Avocado tree. You can see the Avocado leaves in the first photo.

It may be another type of avocado, but I am not sure.

It’s tough to tell with out its flowers. I can’t see clearly more details of leaves, branches on the tree’s upper top i.e. opposite or alternate arrangement. Are the leaves in the foreground of the second picture belong to tree in question? Please resubmit with photos of the above mentioned details and view of the ground where this tree is growing out from. Thank you & best wishes!
