Notes:
I thought this was gonna stay small, but it keeps growing bigger, has no flowers, and I’m not entirely sure that this is not some sort of tree type plant. Anyone know what this might be. Located in Eastern Maryland.

Maybe a species of smartweed (Polygonum). I don’t know which one this is, I’m wonder if this is Pennsylvania smartweed/pinlweed (Polygonum pensylvanicum syn. Persicaria pensylvanica)? According to sources, it can grow above 6ft. You know more when it blooms. Click on link below for images of Polygonum species.
