Threeseed croton (Croton lindheimerianus) seems a likely candidate. I transplanted some croton to my garden a few years ago, and I’ve been using it as a nutrient accumulator… tossing the extra plants on on the compost, while making sure to keep some… After reading what a boon it is to the dove and quail… I may just spread it around the property a bit…
