Thanks for responses. Shrub does not have thorns. The flower has 4 Petals slightly cupped with a yellow center that is stem-like.

As Laura says, the photo does not show enough detail of the flowers (or the leaves and branches). A Cherokee rose should have (unless a double-flowering variety) 5 petals, serrated leaves and thorns.

The flowers are not to clear to be certain. I’m guessing, maybe a type of mock-orange (Philadelphus)? Sorry, I don’t know which species this is .
