Notes:
Please help asap. We just noticed our dog was eating these berries in our backyard. A spot he spends a lot of time. He also likes to bite on some of the branches. Hoping it is not a choke cherry! Anyways if it is we will be putting up some fencing around it and or picking all the berries. Thanks!

I would call them “Service Berries” if it weren’t for the fact that they get ripe in early summer and are long gone when the leaves turn color. Perhaps a “Black Haw” if the fruit have one flattened seed.
