Notes:
This has appeared recently as the late fall growing close to our porch foundation. I’d like to know if it is in the coniferous family or just weirdly similar to the tree on our property (see picture) Thanks for any guidance.

Looks like Euphorbia lathyris, Caper Spurge.

That is a type of euphorbia, a hardy perennial. They reseed around, so there was likely one nearby last year. They are not long-lived in the Atlanta area, and are showiest from the Fall through their very early Spring time bloom. Some have rwactions to the milky sap, so be careful if you bruise the leaves or cut it.
