Teresa LeFever Apprentice says:
This milkweed plant is the host plant for the Monarch butterfly. They lay their eggs on the milkweed and the caterpillars eat the milkweed until full grown, then the find a place to transform into a chrysalis. Two weeks later a Monarch butterfly emerges.
