Notes:

This is an odd request – this is a cut flower, several days old. I cannot find the “fresh” cut image and I’m having a hard time identifying it. The center arrangement is unique and I’m hoping this may help identify the flower/plant. Thank you, Brian

Laura735, Thank you for your help. I never remember to capture the leaves, and I know this is basic flower identification 101. I’ll post a note to myself to image the leaves for my future finds. The variety you mentioned, Gazania, looks very promising and I’ll be on the lookout for another example of this to capture the leaves and other needed information to better identify. Thank you so much. I love this site. Brian

Without it leaves to help narrow down, I could only speculating for now. Perhaps something in the Gazania genus. Maybe you could give us a close up of the back of the flower, we might be able to narrow it down for you. If this is Gazania, chances are it’s a cultivar with this particular color that bred for the florist trade. Check out these varieties in the group. If you by chance finding one with leaves attaching to the stem, please give us an update. Again, I’m only guessing. Best wishes! On the side note, we welcome all questions about plant, flowers, etc… on here. Thank you for your inquiry, we get to see this beautiful image! https://judydykstrabrown.com/2018/12/21/gazania-still-life-fotd-dec-22-2018/
