Looks like False Aralia or Five Fingered Aralia. Try searching those. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/242522/

I would like to respectively doubt the identification on the Schefflera. I have seen & raised Scheffleras & this plant does not resemble any I or the owner of the plant have ever grown. The plant I sent for identification is a mature plant several years old. I probably did not describe it very well. It is a woody type plant stem and the leaves are dark green almost black, serrated edges to the leaves. Very delicate looking plant. I appreciate your help with the Crinum, at last I know what to look for. Thank you.

The bulb is Crinum bulbispermum ( http://www.botanicalstockphotos.com/img8002.htm ) and the shrubby plant is Schefflera elegantissima, formerly known as Dizygotheca elegantissima and still widely sold under that name. The foliage will change as the plant matures. Here’s a shot of the leaves on an adult plant: http://www.botanicalstockphotos.com/img11112.htm .
