Notes:

5 ft tall since it came up. Bright green leaves start about 6 in up from the ground . I planted it as a root / stalk ( I think). I planted two lilacs last year. And this came up this year. Any ideas what it is.

    Doesn’t look like a Paulownia (Empress) to me. Perhaps a cottonwood or Lombardy poplar?

    Might be a royal empress tree. You might not want that quite so close to the house if so. Well, some people wouldn’t want it at all…
