Notes:

At 56, I got poison ivy. First photo is where I was cutting weeds back. 2nd photo grows/consumes next to my fence. 3rd photo, small holes near my back patio. Counted 12. I have lived in the house for 8 yrs. cutting back same weeds every yr just outside of my back fence to keep them out of my yard. I have many diff plants I would like to ident but will start here. I think the holes are wasp holes. Some have mounds of sand around them. Granddaughter said japanese hornets, they do look similar

    Poison ivy is in first photo. look for the 3 leaflet. Cant really tell what it’s all tangled up in… maybe crape myrtle. second photo might be luffa or wild cucumber (not edible). The wasps are solitary, not aggressive… leave them be. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot the wasps dragging other bugs toward their hole… They take down critters as big as they are! and so… they can’t fly when they have a prey item for their babies.
