Notes:
Young tree, offered to me to plant but no name. No flowers on it (the pink flowers are from another plant). Don’t know if it’s a flowering or fruit tree….or neither. Thanks

You’re very right. Definitely something in the fig family, but the dark red stems is confusing in finding the right species. But already a good start, thanks!

I forgot to include this link which has great data on the African fig species. Click on each species to see its photos and distribution map. http://www.figweb.org/Ficus/Checklists/Checklist_South_African_Ficus.htm

With out its flower or fruit, I’m speculating maybe some thing in the Moraceae family. Perhaps a species of fig (ficus)?. I’m unable to tell which species this is. Link below with numerous images of different species of this genus. Best wishes titiad! https://www.google.com/search?q=ficus+thonningii&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjxyLPd5rTKAhVC6iYKHZbyAv4QiR4IggE&biw=1760&bih=833#imgrc=fUX15dPIWqYAzM%3A
