Notes:
I found this plant by my mailbox. As you can see,it is about 3 feet tall. There are some smaller plants close by. I did not see it flower but there is a picture of the fruit. There is only one bloom per plant, low on the stem. not all of the plants made fruit. Some of the blooms just dried up, maybe male and female plants? The stem is not woody, it’s more like the stem on a daffodil.

I found the answer myself. It’s a “GREEN DRAGON”. You can read about it at Wikipedia. I should have looked a little longer.
