Notes:
I purchased this plant at my local hardware store here in L.A. The only information I was given is that it is a perennial and produces purple flowers. I thought it may be a teucrium but this plants woody stems are much stiffer than the varieties I’ve come across. The holly-like leaves are stiff as well. With it’s curving long stems it makes a great specimen plant at it’s current size so whatever it is I hope I can maintain it in the pot I planted it in. Any info would be much appreciated!

Thank You so much laura735! I was way off. Based on the pictures found on the net it looks like what I’ve got is a ceanothus gloriosus! ?

Maybe a species or cultivar from the Ceanothus genus. Sorry I can’t tell which one this is. these leaves looks similar to some of the group include C. prostratu, C. glorious, etc… Check out and see if you have a match. Link below is for C. glorious. Best wishes! https://www.google.com/search?q=Ceanothus+gloriosus&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwidg5ypq7_PAhVdGGMKHXlJDAwQiR4IeA&biw=1920&bih=876#imgrc=b43ULPq5_PS87M%3A
