These two trees were blown down last night in the storm. Can someone tell me what they are ? Both were about 30 feet tall growing in a wet area. Both are hardwoods.

    I agree with Laura on the top pic. I have a cottonwood and it’s prone to “rust” the unsightly leaf discoloration.

    On the second tree, more details are needed i.e. closeup of tree ‘s trunk, branches, etc… I have some ideas but unable to go further with out more clues. Please resubmit with the mentioned details above.

    Top photo – Looks like some thing in the cottonwood (Populus). Check out one in the group the Eastern cottonwood (Populus deltoides). Click on the images from the included link to enlarge. Best wishes!
