It’s hard to tell without flowers. Also “GIFT PLANT” from people or from nature (birds, wind, etc…)? For now I’m guessing, perhaps some of these plants genera: the blackeye Susan group (Rubeckia hirta), borage/starflower (Borago officinalis), and RobinÕs plantain (Erigon pulchellus). Agsin, I’m only speculating, flowers are needed for a confirmed ID. When it blooms and you still don’t know, please give us an update with flowers photo. His looks like it could be a Rudbeckia seedling – sunflower, Black-eyed Susan or the like
