Notes:
Please help me identify my neighbors plant. They keep it in a pot and bury it in their mulch all summer, then bring it inside in the winter. Not sure this is native to Ohio or not. They are not sure the name of this plant.

Ruellia brittoniana Ohio is a good place for it… Down here…. It is a spreader… The deer eat it, so I can’t plant it outside the wire…. The voles control it inside the garden fence… other people in GA are having their flower beds inundated… It grows like mint… so the neighbors should be willing to share… http://www.floridata.com/ref/R/ruellia.cfm

when I lived in Florida, these plants were easy to grow. They were. Called Mexican Petunias. I don’t know if that is accurate but that is what they were called.
