Notes:

This plant showed up in our front yard after our vacation. It has a rather strong smell to the leaf. I brought it in before the frost tonight? No one is owning up to giving it to us??

The leaves are too blurry to be certain. I’m guessing this could be a type of basil (?). I can’t see clearly to tell if the spots on those leaves are from either bacteria leaf spot or a cultivar’s characteristic with the mottling leaves type. Check out theses included links and see if you have a match. You could also take a sample of you plant to a supermarket’s produce section or buy some fresh basil herbs, take it home and compare them together. The aromatic of basil leaves will help you more (The African basil has a very strong smell different than the common one). If this isn’t basil, give us an update when these blooms in a new post. Best wishes! https://thrivefarm.wordpress.com/2012/02/20/growing-varieties-of-basil-in-your-garden-or-windowsill/
