These plants were already in our garden when we bought the house. We’d like to know how to prune and take care of them.

Also known as Candles in Heaven – and in the mid-west, Soap Weed. If you decide to dig them out, be prepared to dig waaaaayyy deep to get the main root out. Those guys send roots down to China! If you can’t get to the bottom of the root, then get some vegetation killer (total kill) and pour full-strength where you were last able to reach when digging. They DON’T want to die.
